Subject: Re: [Harp-L] Fresh From A Workshop, I tackle "The Un-Natural Octave

Steve Warner writes (snipped):

"By some chance did Madcat pull out his bag of jaw harps? That's something
to see. He'd have a harp in one hand, a jaw harp in the other and then hoot
and holler while switching back and forth. I've got that one on film and
WOW! He's a genious!"

....I've witnessed (with absolute delight), Peter doing this during at least
one Buckeye
'teach-in", as well as during a SPAH 'morning after a Jason Ricci blow-off',
with Jason, Dennis Gruenling, Pat Ramsey and Joe Filisko...ALL onstage
explaining their backgrounds and playing styles, talking and playing together and
taking questions from the audience at the same time! How could it ever get
better than that?

Taking away nothing from everyone who ever participates in a Filisko
teach-in (they're all wonderful and amazing talented people/performers in their own
right), He is THE most absolutely entertaining of the
instructor/customizer/raconteurs who show up to share their knowledge with the participants. While
some people pepper him with questions, the rest of us are content to just
sit back and enjoy him: it's simply enough to be at his table watching him
sing, play and talk.

Having MadCat actually coming to perform at SPAH this August with Shari Kane
is going to be a MAJOR treat, indeed, and I sure hope we capture some of
what he does on tape...so those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure can see
just how good this guy is, surrounded by an audience of appreciative harp
players. I can't wait!

Elizabeth
