I want to wish Rob Paparozzi great success on his new CD. I look forward to
it's release!
I recently recorded a Cream song as well. I did "Sunshine Of Your Love" with
a project I'm working on in LA. I tried my best to imitate Clapton's
beautiful solo. You can hear it at

I think Clapton's solos are another great example of good taste and "song
first" attitude  from a guy with monster chops, much like the approach on
the new Jellyroll Johnson CD.
Cream had some great material to work with and Clapton's a fun guy to
imitate on harp.

Excellent post and recap HB! You are quite right and he himself has said
that his amongst his STRONGEST blues influences are Robert Johnson, BB King,
LITTLE WALTER and Ray Charles..

I think the point I was trying to get across is that if he is going to use
TERRIFIC & Diverse players like Phillanganes, Gadd, Nathan East...

it'd sure be great if he did the same with a harp player and not even
necessarily a Chicago style player but a player in the caliber of these
others and let them add to to the color of his already BEAUTIFUL music, but
that is just my own biased opinion,-)....but your point that this is guitar
driven is well taken and I LOVE his music and respect his love for the Blues
as an art form.

PS...I'm paying tribute to Eric on my new CD with a Harp Instrumental of
'Strange Brew' with Will Lee on Bass, Shawn Pelton on Drums, Hugh McCracken
on Bass Harmonica and Leo Nocentelli on Guitar and me on lead Harp...

I'll never forget hearing Eric and Cream at a local High School here in New
Jersey...in the late 60's....I became a HUGE fan that night and later felt
compelled to go to the last wheels of fire show at Nassau coliseum....we
befriended a few of the roadies after the show as they were loading the
truck and one took out Clapton's Gibson Sunburst Firebird let us hold it for
a few seconds!!!
