Re: [Harp-L] Stage Presence
Well,
Over the years, I've taught performers (mostly singers) how to achieve
"Stage Presence "...
Sometimes with success, sometimes without.
One of the best blues guitarists I've ever played with used to play on stage
sitting down BEHIND his amp, so he felt less vulnerable. That is NOT the way
to go.
I guess the secret is, simply, CONFIDENCE....
Now I'm talking about on stage, not on TV or film.
On stage, make your movements BIG... So folks can see them. On TV, you can
just raise an eyebrow and the camera will pick it up. On stage you need to be
just a little "larger than life". If you act big, the audience will probably
like it. The late William Clark was a master of this!
Just my tuppence worth.
