Re: [Harp-L] An Apology
Good to hear someone is keeping the music alive.
I'll look for you guys now that I know you guys have
harmonica.
I'm playing World Music now with a guy from Spain.

This a tune from our demo. I have a ton of stuff up
there. You can even find some Diggs Blues stuff:)

hey diggs -
it was at Lickety Split at 4th and South. Our band Buck Hunter and the Pig City Porkrollers gets occasional gigs in philly at places like that. We do a very eclectic mix of acoustic "stuff" that kinda blends blues, folk, bluegrass, americana, and old-timey stuff together. We mainly do it for our own enjoyment, which is a good thing, as you sure as hell aren't going to find any paying gigs doing that kind of stuff, not around Philly anyway...
It would seem that a culture has evolved in the city where people who play this kind of stuff have to do it basically for free, with maybe getting a cut of the door (if there even is any cover) or a percentage of the bar receipts for the night. I basically do it just because it's fun and I get enough money to pay for the gasand a meal and get a couple of free beers out of it. Plus I get to act like a hillbilly for a few hours (bonus!). This usually occurs about once a month, it's pretty hard to find a venue more often than that...
I've heard your Diggs Blues a number of times in the now quite-distant past. I always liked your sound, particularly your chrom stuff. Not the same old same old, by any means...
harp on, Diggs...
