Or you could get your rig, and just bring your mic and harps to the jams.
Leave the amp at home. I started with a Shure SM-58 and a hi/lo
transformer. I still have it (30 years) and sometimes it's still the best
for the situaton. I also have a number of vintage bullet mics, and a few
that are extra to my necessary needs. contact off-list if you are
interested.
I also recommend the Kamalazoo 6BQ5 amps. Great tone for harp.
For practicing, a tiny pignose works fine, and at small "song swaps" it
doesn't hurt to bring the little piggy and a JT-30/CM along.
