How about you virtualize it by creating a 'concert' on archive.org called 'The harp-l Sessions' where each member who wants to post can put one (and only one) cut there. 

Would that work? Or does one person have to maintain it and post the cuts? 

Folks could even post under their harp-l name rather than their 'real' name. Then when you see someone post and say "hmm, wonder what that person sounds like" you could just go there and listen to their cut. Works for folks that don't have myspace and what not.
