There is no fool-proof way to determine the age of a Hohner harmonica or  
other brand harmonica. But, if we accumulate enough information, we can usually  
make an educated guess to within 10 years of the harmonica's manufacture. 
 
An excellent source of information on the Hohner company, and in  particular, 
the evolution of the Hohner #1896 Marine Band harmonica is the  website:
