I forgot to add that the new solo piece was recorded using a handheld Audix Fireball mic with V element. The mic went through a Line6 UX2 audio interface on its way to the computer.
I would rather have used a large diaphragm condensor mic mounted on a stand for this piece, but the various animals in my house were making a racket, and I needed to use a technique that would exclude all background noise.
That's why people use recording studios.
