After doing a lot of research on the issue, IMHO the best inexpensive harp
available for a beginner/amateur is the Suzuki HarpMaster. Retailers are
charging up to thirty bucks for them now but they can still be had in the
twenty dollar range if you shop around. I received two today from Musicians
Webstore that I got online at their "old" price of $17.77 Canadian. I
noticed today that they have increase the price to nearly $27.00 Canadian.
The HarpMaster is a wonderful playing Harp right out of the box. Good volume
and sweet tone. I have never gotten a bad one out of the box. You guys
know a lot more about what keys are best than me but I usually try to carry
around a C harp and an A harp if I'm not carrying my full case.
