I've written to Mr. Lehmann separately to explain my concerns about this post. I'll repeat those concerns here.

The patch set I've developed for the RP200 is not sold, it's licensed. The license precludes resale. Here are the terms I spell out to every buyer BEFORE and AFTER the sale:
**************************************************************************
Please note that the patchset is copyrighted material. You are purchasing
a license for unrestricted personal use of the patchset in any Digitech RP-series
device owned by you, including both paid and unpaid performance. Your license does
NOT allow you to transfer any of the patch data to anyone else in any form, whether
or not you are paid for the transfer via exchange of money, goods, services, or
anything else.
**************************************************************************

As I further note in my email to prospective buyers, I purposely set my price for the patch set very low in order to make it possible for people to take advantage of amp modeling technology. If the patch set gets out "into the wild", I can't afford to sell at that price. That means either that I won't be able to afford to spend my time developing new patches--such as the set I'm now developing for the Digitech RP250--or that I'll be forced to price the set at a level that makes it much less affordable.

The contract is the contract, and it means what it says. I don't have to go into details about what I offer to buyers, but I will anyway. It took over 50 hours of work for me to develop the patch set that I sell for $20, and I offer buyers of the patch set essentially unrestricted before and after sale support via email and phone. Anyone on this list who's purchased the patch set can confirm that this is so.

Further, all buyers of the original patch set I developed for the Labtec AM22 mic were sent FREE copies of the Audix Fireball V patchset when I created that set as a replacement for the Labtec set. I keep a list of buyers, and I have sent additional copies of the patch set to buyers who have lost theirs for one reason or another.

Believe me when I say I'm not getting rich on this stuff. I do this as a service to the harmonica-playing community. I want harp players to get good sounds for short money. Anyone here have a quarrel with that?

There's a simple reset procedure described in the RP200 manual that will wipe the patch set from memory. I have asked Mr. Lehmann to use that procedure and reset the memory of the device before he sells it, and to destroy the printed copies of the patch set--in other words, to live up to the terms of the agreement he made with me when he bought the patchset. I ask other members of this list to honor that contract as well.

Thanks and regards, Richard Hunter
