Gday all,
My first small amp was a Samick Baby G which I picked up from a second hand
store. It is battery or mains powered 8 watts? solid state. I used it for
years busking and recording and it absolutely rocked. It really had that
overdriven Captain beefhart type of sound. I still have it but it is in need
of repairs. One day I may fix it. Never seen this amp anywhere else.
But now I use something else. This little amp have been making a bit of a
stir locally. It's a Line 6 Micro Spider. It's tiny but don't let this fool
you. For its size it's quite loud and with the right mic can sound very
good. I use it for small gigs. I think this amp may be the new 'pignose'. It
has line 6 amp modelling and some useful digital 'Tape' delay. I also use it
on bigger gigs as a pre-amp and use the line out to the desk.
