RE: [Harp-L] Harp Player on TLC Documentary?
Okay...I knew it when I wrote it...I should have deleted it.
ALL I WAS TRYING TO SAY was that the harp was coming from the soul; from
somewhere deep down. It sounded good. It wasn't perfect, but I could
tell that the player was "seasoned". There was a lot of emotion in the
playing. In other words, it made me want to find out if the player had a
CD for sale. I would buy it. It didn't sound like it was the product of
a "musician of a thousand talents" who "also plays some harp". Most (not
ALL...God help me) of what I hear in the movies and on TV is either
clean, clear and rehearsed to the point that it has been sanitized free
of all feeling OR a complete hack job which rivals the ubiquitous drunk
guy at the open mic nights.
Come on you guys...let's not argue semantics.

most "session players" ARE real players (as opposed to ?? synths?)
Richard was very real last time we spoke...
I guess you may mean the "session" guitar/keyboard" player that keeps
harps in his case to warble/wank out the occasional small part to get
some extra dough on the session.Michael Peloquin
