Joe,

I use a UX2 and it works fine with Windows XP. I don't know where you got the idea that the UX2 doesn't work with Vista, or what forums you visited. The Line6 website offers a download for Vista drivers for the UX2 at this URL:

http://line6.com/software/index.html

I suggest that you look at the Line6 hardware forum for more advice on how to set the UX2 up with your system. If you haven't read the manual from start to finish yet for both the UX2 and whatever recording software you're using, I recommend that you do that too. Finally, if there's a forum for your recording software, I recommend that you ask some questions there about how you get the software to recognize your UX2.

It's pretty clear that you are new to computer recording, and it's not as easy as punchng a button on a cassette recorder. If you can't spend the time to figure it out, get something simpler, like one of the dedicated multi-track digital recorders from Fostex, Boss, Tascam, or Zoom, or even a Zoom H4, if your recording needs are very simple (like all you need is a live stereo recording). That's a device that works with a single button push.
