[Harp-L] custom harmonica patents

These are probably excellent harps, but how exactly are they
"Custom"? Doesn't "custom" or "customized" imply (actually, more
than imply) that they are set-up specifically for the individual and
preferably with that individiual's input? Things like specific
temperament/intonation, gap settings and the like. There's nothing
wrong with extremely modified, high-quality stock models (indeed,
there's a lot right with that), but that's quite different from
something which is "custom" made or "customized".
" With-in the next few weeks we will be updating the site with
pictures of our totally new and revolutionary Patented Designs, that
I have been working on for the past few years."
Sounds interesting. What's the patent number? I couldn't find
anything under your name at the US patent office search sight, and I
love reading musical instrument patents (indeed, I'm off to find a
particularly interesting one tonight, though not a harmonica one).
"We are also getting very close to coming out with our own reeds
produced here in our shop. We believe this new design and reeds will
launch the harmonica into the 21st Century! Jason Ricci along with a
very few select Top Pro players will also attest to this."
That sounds like a lot of work, but I can think of several modern
methods for reed-making that might be interesting to pursue. What
material will they be made out of? I have often thought that
something very effective could be done updating some of Finn Magnus'
ideas for injection molded reeds with modern plastics and the vast
improvements in vacuum molding. Probably more something for a mass
manufacturing company to look into, but small, high-quality vacuum
injection machines are easier to get now than in the past--if still
fairly expensive.
