Re: [Harp-L] rivets
I've actually never came across anyone selling rivets, but there might be out there. I can't help much with that, but maybe I can help with the nut, or maybe not if you have the tool and are doing this stuff, but maybe somebody else can benefit.. . The nut tightening has always been kind of easy for me, so I wonder... are you using a wrench to tighten the nuts? There's one available through Seydel I sell for 8 bucks, it has a little tiny socket on the end that you put the nut inside that socket, it holds it, then you use that wrench to start the nut on the screw and turn it. If you are in Germany (only guessing because you went to Harponline.de), Harponline sells that same wrench, I believe.
It's No, 6 in the tool kit.

How I do it is use the wrench to put the nut on the screw. When the nut gets down far enough to where it starts to touch and move the reed as I turn, but is still loose, I I readjust the reed carefully to the left.I use my thumb to apply slight pressure to the screw side, which keeps it from turning too much. Tightening makes the reed go clockwise, so When it gets to about 1 o'clock, I take my thumb pressure off the screw, then turn the nut counterclockwise with the wrench, which positions the reed at around 10 or 11 oclock. I repeat this process three or four times, until the screw is tight. I like to get it tight around the 1 o'clock position, then I overtighten the nut very SLIGHTLY. Then I use the wrench itself to actually align the reed.
It's simpler than it sounds and, to me, at least, so much simpler than fooling around with rivets, but I know there are guys who really like rivets. .

Subject: [Harp-L] rivets
Hi,
I am looking for some rivets to repari my harps.
Currently I am using bolts and nuts, but they are a
pain to tighten. Any idea where to buy rivets from? I
tried to ask at harponline.de a couple of times but my
e-mails have been completely ignored.
thanks
Zombor
