I also recommend upgrading H4 to firmware version 2.10
It adds nice features, like support for SD-cards bigger than 2GB, mp3 
encoding of previously recorded WAVs, mono recording in stereo mode, 
normalizing, track splitting and better support for NiMH batteries.

If your system version is <1.20 you might have to update to that 
version first before being able to install 2.10
