Last night I played a gig that was very high energy. At the end of the set I was inspired to throw my harp off the stage, jump off the stage onto my harp and jump on it multiple times. AT the end of the gig my bandleader handed me a whopping $23 (Pretty good for a Saturday night in Austin,Texas actually). At least I can buy a new harp off the internet!
I have done this with chromatics, green bullets (not stomped them, but thrown them down), the only 364 I've ever owned...The audience LOVES it, but it seems a bit self destructive considering my budget. I have told myself never to do it again, but when the adrenaline is high and everyone else is the band is going crazy on their instruments, I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!
What are your Jimi Hendrix moments? Anyone actually light a harp on fire?
