when I went to High-school in NYC in the early eighties, the black kids called me "Larry Bird" because I was the only white guy playing basketball....does that count?  :)
  In my musical career, I've been lucky to have a cool enough family name that no-one ever bothered to look for a nickname for me - even my wife calls me "The Hammer"
