First, find DMaj on the outer wheel, at the 2 o'clock position.
If the tune is being played in DMaj and you use a D harp, you are in
first position.
If you rotate one position counterclockwise to the 1o'clock position,
you will find G.
If the tune is being played in DMaj and you use a G harp, you are in
second position.
Rotating one more time, you will see C,which is at the 12 o'clock position.
If you use this harp, you will be in third position, which is the
position typically used for minor playing.
So, find the key(ignoring the minor/Major designation) in the outer
wheel and rotate back two clock positions from your point of origin.Use
the harp tuned in that key to play third position.
Using a B harp to play third position would require the band to play in
a key that has 5 flats.
