Just saw Gary in August at D. Barrett's soloing seminar Aug 4/5 in Austin.? Gary looked good, sounded great as usual, particularly acoustically where his tone and various
shadings can be best heard.? He was the guest artist for the rest of us (25 or so).? After he played some, he played guitar the rest of the jam night until his fingers just about
gave?out.? 

This is really shocking and a very sad day.? Just hightlights what Warren Zevon said before he died -- "enjoy every sandwich."? Similarly, for those of us who are up there in
years, every day is a gift,? And putting off playing or procrastinating on working out some new licks on the assumption that there are plenty of days ahead is sometimes, 
unfortunately, not a solid assumption.

I, among many, will certainly miss him and his all-star playing.?
