Hi all,

I read this forwarded email and wanted to just to say, first thanks for
the support. And second, I had some comments from the original body of
the email.

EMAIL: My  refusal to mic my small 5 watt amp is starting to be a point
of friction with my other 
band members. I do mic it in larger venues but at small clubs I don't
because adding it to the mix means more volume and I refuse to play in
loud environments.

Comment: Putting a mic in front of your amp in small venues doesn't mean
it has to be louder. Remember, you control the mix and the volume. What
it does do it take the tone from what is probably a great sounding 5
watt amp and allow everyone in the venue to hear it equally as well.

EMAIL: Our bass player was marveling at how you could just hear
everything and not know where the sound was coming from.

Comment: Knowing where the sound is coming from is a benefit. I greatly
enhances the ability of the musicians ability to play together when the
players sound comes from where on stage he I standing. It also improves
the enjoyment of the people listening to the show because you now are
able to connect what your eyes see to what and from where your are
hearing that particular instrument. I do recognize that you may not be
using one L1 system per player as intended but as you can get closer to
that, the better everything will sound.

I mentioned  this system to another band member this morning at practice

it turns out he's used it and liked it with the other band he plays in. 
  It also turns out some friends of ours who gig out a bunch use a pair 
of the Boses.  I'm starting to be intrigued.  My  refusal to mic my 
small 5 watt amp is starting to be a point of friction with my other 
band members.  I do mic it in larger venues but at small clubs I don't 
because adding it to the mix means more volume and I refuse to play in 
loud environments.  Our bass player was marveling at how you could just 
hear everything and not know where the sound was coming from.  I'd pay 
money not to go deaf.  It'd also be nice to stop annoying my band 
members. I think I'll go sit in with that other band and see how it
