Wow--I got the new CD in one day after ordering it.  If that's not great
customer service I don't know what is.  After one listen it is a very
exciting CD--some great songs and terrific playing from everyone, especially
JR.  Mr. Starsky certainly can't complain about solo space--a lot of lead
guitar all over it.  Don't get me wrong, I'm as big a Jason Ricci fan as
anyone but after reading about the pre-buzz on this I don't hear anything
that's going to kick him into the mainstream from this CD.  I can't hear any
radio friendly song or think of what kind of commercial radio station would
play anything here.  The closest thing to my ears is "I'm a New Man" but it
sounds very "influenced" by Lou Reed to put it mildly.  I doubt if a classic
rock station would play this due to the similarity to his songs.  I would
guess JR will continue to tour and kick ass as always, but I doubt if this
is going to make his band the next Blues Traveller.  If anyone thinks
differently I would love to hear why.
