The brief history of harp-l does contain some errors so don't take it as
gospel. Suffice it to say that without Chris Pierce none of this would
exist. This being harp-l. Sure some other venue would have filled the
niche but it would have been different. Harp-l is unique amongst
internet lists. The culture of the list and the networking it has
sponsored have changed the harmonica world as I knew it. Most of how
harp-l is and how it is run is a direct extension of either Chris or
Hugh. That a college student at Western Kentucky University thought to
create an internet list for harmonicas pre world wide web, pre browsers
is as amazing as the fact that harp-l has survived these 15 years. fjm
