It seems as though Little Walter heard things a bit differently from most of
the musicians around him. His music sounds looser. Could the fact that he
grew up in Louisiana also have something to do with that, while most of
those in his circle were from Mississippi? And as he grew up around French
speaking people where he must have heard a lot of accordion music and French
based songs and rhythms (as Scott Dirks wrote in his book) perhaps that
could have done something as well.
