RE: [Harp-L] mic



Hi Mike,
For hear-a-pin-drop-quiet concerts, AKG C535EB. These are condenser mics, omni-directional, requiring phantom power. Excellent mics, but hyper-efficient at picking up the dog barking outside the hall.


For general (ie noisier, club type) gigs: Shure 545SD. Personally I think these sound better than 57s or 58s, plus they have an off-on switch so you can discuss the scenery in the third row without getting busted. :)

Very happy with both.

O.K. techies, i gotta question. What mic would you recommend as a best
choice for both singing and playing through?Mic should be fairly clean
sounding as befits the style of music i play. Just want to add a bit of
