Re: [Harp-L] Amp to run with effects?

the bassman is good for effects. Otherwises get a small bass amp. Eden Nemesis 2x10 with 200w will work fine. Look for Epiphany rigs too. Gallien Krueger also makes some nice stuff.

I'm no longer into old amps of any kind or low power amps. I used the bassman in Boudler for the first time in months and I wasn't happy with it. I'm loving the stuff that has 1000w+ to it. Those old amps matched with harmonica is great if you're into 1950 technology and sound but the last time I checked we're living in new millenium or something :-)

Especially for you Mike, you are a modern harmonica player so why stick to a sound and technology that is over 50 years old? Yeah yeah I know it works but it seems nobody has been trying the new stuff that is out there. If you truly want to stretch the boundries of your instrument playing the old stuff isn't going to help. With a mundo powered bass rig you will be amazed at how well your effects sound.

Some night before or after a show or during rehearsal, plug into your bassist's rig and check it out. CLEAN and DEFINED!!! You will hear a roundness to your notes that is not possible with a low powered amp like a bassman, pro junior, etc...
