Re: [Harp-L] Comfort blanket harmonica

I say, only half-jokingly: you ain't a harp player if you ain't always got a harp on ya!

I always pocket a harp when I leave the house, and they're all over the place at home and in my car. Any key, sp20, or my ol' 364 C or a neat seydel low or... like Garry, I feel naked without a harp in my pocket.

Even when I was doing trial work I always carried a harp, sometimes the courthouse security guards asked me to play, and I did. (Jazmaan did too, I think.)

A kid's crying in a grocery? Play some organ grinder stuff, or mama's lil baby or summertime.

A panhandler meekly asks for coin? A kid shows interest in the harp? Give him or her an old (always clean and in tune) beater, a fishing rod instead of fishes and all.

Need a cab? Blow a high double, they'll think you're a doorman.

if you don't carry a harp regularly, you should! Spread the joy!

me neither. mine is a special 20 in C that's been carefully tweaked to be
my best playing harp. i also filed off the back corners of it so it will fit
in
those little plastic cases that golden melodys used to come in (maybe still
do).
these cases are great. they keep the lint out, and are small enough that
you can keep them in your pocket, barely larger than the harp itself. on
those rare occasions that i forget to bring it i feel lost.
