[Harp-L] Denver

I am looking forward to Denver. I really believe this experience is going to offer something unique. Like Chris said, I am looking for input as to what you want to learn.

My main ideas right now are to:

  1. Insure everyone has a good understanding of the main physical techniques on the harp and how to take the next step towards using those ideas during music making time.

  2. Make sure everyone is really understanding the harp layout.

  3. Make sure everyone understands the basics of chord and scale theory. This includes being able to identify when a song is either major, blues or minor in flavor and what scales work for each.

  4. Make sure everyone knows how to transcribe (learn solos off of recordings).

  5. Help learn to choose a theme that remains consistent from the first note of the song until the last.

  6. Help everyone become confident about letting your soul and feelings come through in your playing and developing a personal music philosophy.

7.Help everyone become more comfortable with their musicianship.

By the way, I want to announce my intention to include players who do not overblow or choose not to. Please come! If that was a concern for you, don't worry about it!

I'm really excited! I will see you soon!
