[Harp-L] Re: Best tuner
Strobe tuners are the best!
But it's like an old amp-if you get an older one on ebay be aware that
you might want to get it serviced (or at least checked out) by
Peterson. The sellers always say they work fine, but it's not like
they usually know what they're talking about. Leaky caps throw them
off, a lot of 20-40 year old strobes sell on ebay so you know they're
due. Peterson will estimate any repairs and get your ok before working
on it. Usually that consists of new lamps behind the display and a cap
job- with calibration it's around a hundred bucks or less and they are
very nice people. They also service the Conn Stroboconns. The new ones
have more features and a larger display, but the old ones are very
good for what we do, quiet, and durable.
