[Harp-L] Pete Pedersen's 'Be Of Good Cheer"

Pete Pedersen's book, "Be Of Good Cheer," authored by Jaine Rodack, is a great read -
no, a must read - for all who were ever touched by him, either on a personal level or
through his influence on many levels. He was a famed music writer and arranger, not only
for the Harmonicats, but also for other music groups.

His foray into the disco pop culture of the 1970s led him to Toronto where he produced
several disco albums that received international attention for a number of years.

A chromatic harmonica artist on a level with the greatest names of all time, including
Bernie Bray, George Fields, Sigmund Groven, Richard Hayman, Tommy Morgan, Toots
Thielemans, etc, he also gave complete support to harmonica conventions, both on the
international level, and on the local level. He was always willing to participate as a host,
instructor, player, and friend but he also organized several highly successful harmonica
functions in his home area of Memphis, TN.

I will aways cherish my time spent with Pete over the years, both under his direction
while rehearsing new charts with the Harmonicats at his home and “on the road;” and
preparing for shows at various harmonica conventions, etc. He was a Viking by birth, but
a gentle giant in reality who always chose to seek out the best in everyone’s talents.

For anyone who has yet to order this book, please do yourself a favor and do so. Not for
me, not for Pete, but for your personal edification and satisfaction!
