There are a lot of digital voice recorders that are downright cheap
(<$20). Look on ebay, just search on voice recorder. In addition,
a number of MP3 players have voice recording capabilities. Bear in
mind that they might be pretty limited -- my MobiBlu has voice
recording, but the quality is terrible, much worse than the Sony
digital voice recorder I used to have.
I'll warn you that self-recording can be addictive. I record all my
gigs now. After struggling with the MobiBlu for a couple of months
I bought an M-Audio Microtrack, then turned around and bought mics
and a stand for them.
