Blake I saw recently that the Epiphone Valve 15 amp was selling for 299
new on E bay. From the description it interested me but I want to play
guitar through it too. It has effects built in and a 12 inch speaker and has 3 12
AX and 2 EL 84's I think. At least it's a tube amp. For the mic I would think
something small for a girls hands might be good for her, but then again
women seem to be able to adapt better than men to things like that. How about one
of those Madcat mics?

Hey, folks. I was just asked by a relative beginner (can play a little -
single notes, bend a little, knows a couple blues moves) who is really eager
to get an amp and mic. I'm sure this has been discussed ad-nauseum, but as
I don't want to turn her over to the sharks at the big box music stores,
could any of you kind people quickly suggest a harp-friendly beginner's
setup? This will be used for in-home practice and fun for the forseeable
future. My guess is that she'd like to stay within the $200-$400 range
total. Thanks!
