     Blake I saw recently that the Epiphone Valve 15  amp was selling for 299 
new on E bay. From the description it interested me but  I want to play 
guitar through it too. It has effects built in and a 12 inch  speaker and has 3 12 
AX and 2 EL 84's I think. At least it's a tube amp. For the  mic I would think 
something small for a girls hands might be good for her, but  then again 
women seem to be able to adapt better than men to things like that.  How about one 
of those Madcat mics?

Hey,  folks. I was just asked by a relative beginner (can play a little -
single  notes, bend a little, knows a couple blues moves) who is really eager
to  get an amp and mic.  I'm sure this has been discussed ad-nauseum, but  as
I don't want to turn her over to the sharks at the big box music  stores,
could any of you kind people quickly suggest a harp-friendly  beginner's
setup?  This will be used for in-home practice and fun for  the forseeable
future. My guess is that she'd like to stay within the  $200-$400 range
total. Thanks!
