Tony,  First decide what you will use the amp for.  Home, practice,
large gigs, small gigs, jams.  Those are pretty loud amps and probably
better for playing with a full band at higher volume levels.  There
are many mods floating around the internet for them too.  Google is
your friend.

As far as tone goes you know the story.  You more or less get out what
you put in.  Or have Kim & Paul play through it and enjoy it that
way ;)
