plate where the reed is mounted, but the other side. I'll try it myself when I
get a break in the traffic; but it keeps playing on my mind.
To my knowledge, the general wisdom is that the reed side of the reed
plate is the effective side to emboss because it reduces the tolerances between
the reed and the slot. I suspect that embossing the underside would have no
perceivable affect on reducing the tolerances between the reed and the slot.
