You have to have an E just to play along the cool third position parts in "Lonesome Day" and "Please Have Mercy", from Muddy Waters/Little Walter.

Any blues guitarist worth his salt plays every so often in the key of B.
It's an easy go-around from B to E to F# and back up. Very handy to throw
in, just for variety.

I think it's weird that multiple people had "E" harps to throw up on
stage. I have dozens of harmonicas but I don't think own one in the key of
E.
