Kim Fields book "Harmonicas, Harps and Heavy Breathing" has a few paragraphs. Threes a lot of mystery around him like "Rhythm Willie" nobody knows when he was born or when he passed away. Remember this is the rural south and birth and death records were not compiled with great accuracy. Many folks (especially poor folks) were born in the home. Death Certificates (when they were issued) did not have doctor's signature. That only contributes to the mystery.

Not familiar with Jed. What does he play? As for Cootie, yes. I always played with a mute. I used to loosely tuck tin foil in my Miles Davis to make it more 'raspy'.
