If you take the verse melody and change the major 7th note (which  leads to a 
major 6th) to a major 6th, it still sounds acceptable. However,  in the 
chorus, you will need the major 7th (5 hole OB) just for a quick second,  but you 
can voice lead up to it chromatically from the 5 hole inhale to help  achieve 
the OB.
 
You do need pretty good control on the notes created through bending  
techniques on holes 3 and the 4 hole inhale bend held steady at pitch.
 
For improv, you can create ideas that avoid the major 7th.
