RE: [Harp-L] Chromatic valves

I've owned about four chromatics in my whole life including Hohner 270s and 
a Hering 1248 and I've had valve issues right from the outset with all of 
'em.  I've had very limited success with putting pinoles or indentations in 
valves, etc., but then I'm a clumsy oaf when it comes to piddling little 
jobs like that.  I've found that keeping them warm is the answer.  At the 
risk of repeating myself, I use a pair of reusable gel hand-warmers that I 
activate at the start of the session and keep in a plastic pouch just big 
enough to hold the hand-warmers and two chromatics.  They give out just the 
right amount of heat and I have no valve troubles. The hand-warmers cost me 
£3 the pair and they claim to be rechargeable 1000 times.  Beats putting the 
harps down your trousers (or does it?)  ;-)
