[Harp-L] sealing wood combs (was difference between Soloist and Soloist Pro)

Joe, I have a Marine Band put together with screws and it leaves a bad  taste 
in my mouth.  So I was thinking of sealing it.  I  don't know what a double 
boiler is.  Can i just melt the stuff in a pot  on the stove?  Does the Vapo 
Rub lose it's scent and taste?
  Didn't Tim Moyer used to advocate a type of varnish used in  sealing salad 
bowls?   That would be great if it came in a spray  can.  I've been tempted to 
try to find out where to buy it.  Can  anyone provide info?
