Hi John:

Ahh, good. So you know whereof I speak. It's become somewhat of his
signature song, since it fits Buzz so well.....

He's also a bit overlooked (imho) by many of the membership at SPAH and
other Conventions as the excellent harp player he truly is, because of his
"Ringmaster" duties for the Blues Jams, and functioning as the very best Master of
Ceremonies for the entire Convention.

The kid can play.

People tend to forget just how good he is as a teacher too (check him out during the Filisko teach-in, if he takes
a table this year), singer and harmonicist.

As bigger than life as Buzz is ;) he stays in the background during the
Blues Jams for the most part, letting other people shine.

Buzz (& Joe Filisko) come from the "I ain't got to cho you no steenking badges" school. In other words, they don't have to prove anything. Occasionally there will be performers at the fests that not only have a juicy evening show slot, but then also get involved in every thing else. Sometimes it gets a little tiresome. These guys are not like that. Less is more with them and they make YOU feel important. They always encourage YOU. They can say things that will lift YOU right out of your shoes.

He doesn't think it's noticed. It's noticed.

I first met Buzz Detroit 91. So, yes I noticed.

As for the Last Waltz documentary. I tried to watch it several times. I tried starting at the beginning, towards the end and in the middle. I just couldn't get that much into it. I mean, it seemed like a lot of 'Take the Load off Annie' type folk music. One boring tune after another. I WANTED to like it. I just couldn't. Sorry, only my opinion.
