With Junior I made 30.00
dollars a week 100.00 if I was lucky and I sold drugs to make a
living. When I went to Europe and toured I had to take a vacation from
my job at Rich's Deparment store in maine as a stock boy to go when I
got back from Euorope my Job was gone so I began work at a dry
cleaners.
Jason I just have to respond to this even though it is late. Let
me be honest here (being honest gets me in trouble but I gotta do it anyway)
When I first got on the list I was jealous of you probably because you were a
"PRO" like I want to be still after 35 years. I used to live on Bleeker and I
saw your name on some boards at the blues bars along the street and I was
told that you were the "man" there. EGO TIME In my head I thought that's
because they never heard me and they will. I'll try and make this short. I can sooo
relate to everything you have said in that post. I'm sober now but I
supplemented my income in a myriad of ways too when I was out there. Most of them
not to be proud of. Thanx for saying what you did, you have helped me a lot.
Playin' the harp for a livin' aint easy, I've been struggling to do it for a
long time now, and really, most of the gigs and trials haven't sucked. I
brought on my own misfortunes and I like to think I will bring about the triumph of
reaching my goals. You have inspired me. I will never ever be gunning for a
show down with you anymore. I just hope that I can pull off my conquest with
the panache and humility that you display so naturally. I would have
responded before this but I've been in Kentucky attending my aunt's funeral whom I
loved dearly and probably has made me feel so sensitive to feelings right now.
You ROCK dude, I don't want to outgun you now, I want to emulate you. Thanx.
O yea, I'm also working on a CD funded be me and my Momma that I can shop
around Manhattan and Nashville like you did. Your the man.
