[Harp-L] AFM Local 1000

The American Federation of Musicians, Local 1000, is geared toward  
'travelling' musicians
and grew out of needs special to singer-songwriters, side players  
(harmonicists, take note!),
and other bands, duos, trios, etc. that the more traditional and  
bigger city locals were not
able or interested in meeting.

The post 9-11-01 air travel agreement for carrying on instruments is  
a critical issue.
As are insurance, pension, health/medical, etc. plans...contract  
assistance, etc.
And Local 1000 is heavily populated by folks like most of us.
