I think the furtherest thing from Popper's mind is to be anything like Little Walter. Nothing in
his playing gives
me that impression. There are already far too many players that already have that covered.
Every great player,
regardless of the instrument or idiom has taken their instrument past where they found it.
Popper is definitely
one of those players. There should be at least three elements to what you do as a musician.
You should be
duplicative, emulative and innovative. Popper and many more on players have done those
very things.
