If you're using a line out from a smaller amp to run
it into a larger amp, if the small amp has some
(small, acceptable) hum, you will be amplifying the
hum, perhaps to the point of it being unacceptable. I
have found (just at home) that putting a noise
reduction pedal bewteen the amps takes the hum out.
