Are you talking about that bamboo or wood tube thing with an alto
mouthpiece and either alto or clarinet reed, no flapper door keys and
only open holes (like a recorder).
If so, it's a toy. If you're talking about the teenie teenie sax,
then no, I never tried one.

I would say it is no more a toy than a recorder is a toy. I have one.
Fingering and limitations are similar to a recorder and it shares the same
musical limitations. It sounds similar to a sax, but it is certainly not a
sax. As long as you keep your expectations reasonable, you should be OK with
it.
I like mine, but I will certainly not be getting rid of my Super-20 in favor
of the pocket sax. Certainly is easier to carry around, though.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but those who play harmonica should
be cautious in calling anything else a toy.
