RE: [Harp-L] small amp, big venue?

Download Audacity and use it. Just google and you'll find it, it's free.
Get some of the tutorials, etc and learn how to use the basics. To have
smaller size files, use MP3 format, it's already compressed, and set the
fidelity down to 9600 or something, rather that 12800.

For your PA, there have been discussions here and reviews of the m-Audio
microtrack and Zoom recording units that will attach to your PA and
record digitally and then you can just attach the recorder to your
computer later via USB and copy the files over and doctor them up in
Audacity.

Subject: Re: [Harp-L] small amp, big venue?

I was wondering if there is a recorder program you can install on a
computer
to record thru, digital, and have good control and a decent sound. Also
is
there a particular mic for this purpose that works through the computer?
OR!
is there a better way?

Something reasonable to attach to my PA system that records digitally?

I'm using the Windows recorder built into Win XP without much success.

Another question! The files I create with WIN xp recorder are WAY too
large
for most emails. Is there a compressed file I can use, or??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Happy New Year all......DON
