What i do in that case...
On Linux i use mplayer to do so like this:

mplayer <dvd> -vo null -aofile <filename for pcm output>

This works fine here however you´re probably not running linux.
Mplayer is available for windows and os X too, the commandline might 
be slightly different though, you might be able to figure reading the 
Mplayer homepage:

http://www.mplayerhq.hu/

If your dvd is "protected" with CSS (most are) you mght need a 
separate libary aclled libdvdcss, that might be illegal within USA or 
elsewhere.
