[Harp-L] re: theory now jazz

Not to mention an absence of harmonica for the most part, an absense
of distortion, and an absence of that backbeat.(Larry Coryell
understood the whole distortion concept back in his younger days).
I love jazz. I love classical. Tchaikovsky (I'm not even going to try
to spell that right) all those crazy Russians, Bach, love it, but it
will never supplant my love for the Dead, the Flaming Lips or the B52s.
Blues will always have a place in my heart because it has that
backbeat and the distortion (and vocals man can't beat Howling Wolf).
I need electric bass, vocals, and the backbeat for my harp playing.
Gives me the structure. Let's me know how and when to play. Yes it's
predictable. Yes it's a confining form--like a sonnet.
