i just had a chat with jason ricci, and he asked me to pass on some good news
to his friends on the list.  he has just signed a record deal with Delta Groove 
Productions, and the band will be coming out with a new album.

in further news, after a few months of booking his own gigs, jason has now
signed with Intepid Artists ( http://www.intrepidartists.com ).  hopefully this
will result in his getting bigger and better bookings, and some of the recognition
that the band is long overdue for.

i won't editorialize, except to say that it's about frikkin' time that things started
working out for jason and the band, who have worked so long, and so hard, and
continue to produce such amazing music, week in and week out.  i am *very*
happy for them, and i am proud to have them as friends.  i know a lot of you 
feel the same way.  you might drop jason a line and let him know (note that due
to computer problems, he won't be able to reply).

oh, one last tidbit.  jason got his hands on some custom harps from joe spiers,
and wants everyone to know that they are awesome.
