Somebody said that you get better paying gigs if you know  theory and I can 
attest to that because that guitar buddy of mine got some gigs  just because he 
could read and play in bass cleft. Being somewhat broke at this  time means 
that I can't do it yet, but I have plans to learn as much theory  as I can in 
the very near future. I can always use more money and if  theory gets me more 
and better gigs I'm all for that!!

Second,  if anyone has read Howling Wolf's biography, you'd know that the 
Wolf was  obsessed with learning, and took music lessons even after his 
commercial  success.
